Why work with a NetSuite Partner?

You have already decided on NetSuite as your ERP of choice, and are now looking for a trusted partner to be with you throughout your journey with NetSuite. Or perhaps you are already using NetSuite and are looking for some support. You have probably thought of both these options:

1) Working with a certified NetSuite Solution Provider
2) Working with the Oracle NetSuite team directly

Prospects always ask us about the difference between both, and we are here to make it clear for you.

But first, what is Oracle NetSuite Solution provider?

NetSuite has a channel / partner driven strategy throughout the world as a huge part of implementations are done through Oracle NetSuite Solution Providers. These are companies certified by Oracle NetSuite as expert technology firms who have the experience and expertise required to successfully implement Oracle NetSuite for customers. This isn’t any company who works with NetSuite, and not for beginners or agencies with little to no experience implementing NetSuite.

Here are 5 reasons why you might be looking at engaging an Oracle NetSuite Solution Provider:

1) Able to provide advanced customisations / integrations to NetSuite’s product to fit your unique requirements.

NetSuite Solution Providers usually have a team of developers in house so they can provide customized solutions that direct NetSuite team might not be able to provide.

2) Oracle NetSuite Partners have specialised domain expertise in specific industries.

When choosing a NetSuite provider, it is good practice to check if the company has experience in implementing in your specific industry.

3) We work as a team with Oracle NetSuite.

As mentioned above, NetSuite has a channel/partner driven strategy. Hence, partners have access to same level of resources, training etc as Oracle NetSuite. We work very closely with Oracle NetSuite throughout the whole sales process, and even after implementation. Every customer has a dedicated NetSuite channels manager, and an Account Manager from Oracle NetSuite.
By working with a NetSuite Solution Provider, it is a win-win for the NetSuite customer as they are able to leverage on the specialised strength of the Oracle NetSuite partner, and are also able to leverage on NetSuite for any resources or information. In case of any issue with the NetSuite Solution Provider, Oracle NetSuite can also come in as a mediator.

4) NetSuite partners sometimes develop their own applications built on NetSuite as well – these are called SuiteApps.

If you think the partner developed application is a good add-on, it will be better to implement NetSuite through them for a better overall package. For NuVista, we have our own products for HRMS and field services mobile application. We also have good experience with integrations.

5) You will get a single point of contact for all your NetSuite needs.

From sales, implementation to support, a NetSuite Solution Provider is with you throughout your journey with NetSuite.

Busting myths

Myth 1: Pricing provided by Oracle NetSuite team provides better pricing.

NetSuite partners have access to the same license costs, discounts, and terms that NetSuite’s direct sales team has. (otherwise, there wouldn’t be many happy Solution Providers). Your NetSuite license contract is still between you and NetSuite, but negotiated by the NuVista team on your behalf. Would you rather go through that process blind or with a team experienced negotiating these types of contracts?

Myth 2: NetSuite partners might not be very professional.

NetSuite Solution Providers provide the same methodology as NetSuite from day 1. We have the same access to NetSuite related resources and information as NetSuite employees. NetSuite Solution Providers have the same access to trainings as NetSuite employees.

    NetSuite FAQ

    1) NetSuite was born in the cloud, but what does it mean?
It is a huge difference when you choose a Cloud ERP that was born in the cloud (a true cloud) vs one that is not. Many “cloud” ERP systems are actually hosted or hybrid cloud — essentially, on-premises software retrofitted for access through the internet. Such solutions suffer from many of the problems that plague traditional systems, like version lock, slow upgrades and lack of scalability. NetSuite is a multi-tenant, vendor-managed cloud solution with endless room to support growth.

    2) What is SuiteSuccess?
Previously: NetSuite used to come with a blank dashboard and customers could customise the dashboard according to their own needs.
Fast forward to now with SuiteSuccess: NetSuite now comes with in built dashboards with KPIs, metrics, reports, that are industry specific based on leading practices based on NetSuite’s implementation experience for the past 20 years for over thousands of companies. This means less customisation, faster time to value, increased business efficiency, flexibility and greater customer success.

    3) Can you share with us a comparison of NetSuite vs competitors?
Email us which ERPs you are comparing with and we will provide you a detailed comparison. We can also have a call to go over the ERP comparisons and provide competitive intelligence.

    4) Is NetSuite only for bigger companies with more budget?
NetSuite is for companies of all sizes. From startups to mid-sized companies to large conglomerates across countries as well. In fact, 63% of technology IPOs are NetSuite customers since 2011. However, to be upfront, NetSuite is not cheap. But the reason it sells a lot is because of the immense value it provides by giving complete visibility into your business.

    5) Is NetSuite simply an accounting software?
While NetSuite does incorporate accounting function, it is much more than that. With a single, integrated suite of applications for managing accounting, customers, order processing, inventory management, production, supply chain and warehouse operations, NetSuite ERP gives companies clear visibility into their data and tighter control over their businesses. You can add/remove modules as per your requirements

    6) I know other companies that Oracle has acquired have been phased out. I’m worried about keeping my business on the NetSuite platform.

Yes, Oracle has acquired NetSuite in November 2016. As mentioned by Larry Ellison, Chairman of the Board and CTO of Oracle -
“I view that we will maintain these two products forever. Forever. I’ve tried to come up with a term that is longer than forever, but I couldn’t come up with one. But I wanted to avoid any fear, uncertainty and doubt.”

    7) How secure is NetSuite ERP?
Even the largest banks are on NetSuite – that is how secure it is! Your data is fully secure. It's encrypted in transit and at rest. There are many levels of authentication such as Password, 2FA, security questions etc. for users to login into the system. Uptime SLA is 99.7%.

    8) How much is NetSuite?
NetSuite pricing is different for everyone and depends on business processes, complexity & configuration, the number of users and the scope of the project. NetSuite operates as a subscription model. Your NetSuite license is made up of three main components: core platform, optional modules, and the number of users. There is also a one-time implementation fee for initial setup. As your business grows, you can easily activate new modules and add users — that’s the beauty of cloud software.
The Oracle NetSuite contract is for a minimum one year and a maximum of three years. However, there are flexible payments monthly, annually, or over longer durations—the software can be implemented at a lower upfront cost than many other major ERP implementations.

    9) Do I have to pay for NetSuite upgrades?
NetSuite takes care of all upgrades and enhancements free of cost. This happens twice a year – this is possible as NetSuite is a true cloud, with all the 32,000+ customers on the same release. You will get a release preview upfront on what is upcoming.

    10) How do NetSuite upgrades work?
100% of NetSuite customers are on the same release. There are 2 major upgrades per year, and ongoing minor upgrades throughout the year.
